What will I be doing?
As Night Receptionist, you will provide night-hour reception services for Guests to contribute to an overall exceptional experience from check-in through check-out and complete audits, as required. A Night Receptionist contributes to the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
1. Educational Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (Optional): Some employers prefer a degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field, though it is not always required.
2. Experience:
Previous Experience in a Hotel or Front Desk Role minimum 2 years : Experience as a front desk clerk or in another customer service role in a hotel is often required. Night Receptionist typically have prior experience handling guest check-ins and check-outs, reservations, and guest requests.
Accounting or Bookkeeping Experience: Night receptionist often deal with financial transactions, so prior experience or familiarity with accounting practices is a plus.
3. Technical Skills:
Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with hotel management software and office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) is important. Knowledge of specific property management systems (PMS)
Basic Accounting Skills: Ability to handle financial reports, balance sheets, and cash registers. A strong understanding of how to reconcile the hotel’s financial transactions at the end of the day is critical.
4. Key Skills:
Customer Service Skills: Though night receptionist work during late hours, they still need to be able to assist guests, handle inquiries, and resolve complaints effectively.
Organizational Skills: The role involves managing multiple tasks at once, from checking guests in to completing reports and handling any overnight emergencies.
Problem-Solving Skills: Night receptionist need to resolve issues that may arise during the overnight shift, such as billing discrepancies or technical difficulties with the property management system.
