About Us

We are an established boutique retreat center in Ubud, Bali, featuring a healthy cafe and a herbal steam sauna (operating since 2013). With a dedicated team of 18 staff members, we provide high-touch hospitality and wellness experiences for international retreat hosts, as well as community patrons visiting our cafe and sauna. We are seeking a dynamic, business-minded Retreat Manager to oversee our daily operations while actively driving sales, marketing, and revenue growth across all departments.

Position Overview

As the Retreat Manager, you will be the primary leader on the ground, balancing exceptional guest relations and staff management with proactive business development. You will report directly to the owner and take full responsibility for property performance, guest satisfaction, room occupancy rates, and the commercial success of our cafe and sauna/spa amenities.


Core Responsibilities

1. Sales & Marketing (Revenue Generation)

• Retreat Leader Outreach: Actively book and negotiate group venue buyouts with international retreat organisers and wellness companies.

• Direct & OTA Booking Optimization: Manage digital channels (website, Booking.com, Airbnb, Instagram) to maximize independent guest occupancy during non-retreat weeks.

• Cafe & Sauna Commercial Growth: Develop promotional strategies, packages, and local marketing campaigns to increase daily foot traffic and sales from external community patrons.

• Local Networking: Build partnerships with local wellness operators, expat networks, travel agencies, and digital nomad hubs in Bali to cross-promote our accommodations, cafe, and sauna.

• Campaign Management: Coordinate social media content to maintain brand visibility and drive revenue for all center offerings..


2. Operations & Property Management

• Daily Workflows: Oversee front desk, guest check-ins/check-outs, housekeeping, kitchen, cafe operations, sauna bookings, and grounds maintenance.

• Quality Control: Maintain premium hospitality standards across all antique accommodation units, the cafe, and the sauna facilities, ensuring they are always guest-ready and hygienic.

• Financial Oversight & Supply Chain: Manage relationships with local suppliers, monitor cafe inventory and food wastage, control overall operational costs, coordinate routine maintenance, and maximise profit margins.


3. Team Leadership & Local Relations

• Staff Supervision: Lead, schedule, and mentor the 18-person local team, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

• HR & Compliance: Oversee staff attendance, customer service training, performance reviews, and ensure operational efficiencies.

• Community Relations: Act as the primary liaison for the local village authorities to ensure smooth, harmonious operations.


Job Requirements

• Nationality: Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI).

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of management experience in boutique resorts, wellness retreats, or premium eco-lodges in Bali. Experience overseeing operations that integrate F&B (cafe) and spa/wellness facilities (sauna) is highly preferred.

• Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken for international hosts/guests) and Indonesian (for staff and local relations). Knowledge of Balinese is a strong plus.

• Skills: Strong understanding of revenue management, social media marketing, and hospitality booking software.

• Leadership Style: Hands-on leader who leads by example, remains calm under pressure, and possesses excellent conflict-resolution skills.
